Marco Island may be petite in size, but it’s large in cuisine and chock full of mouth-watering eateries. In appetizing Marco Island news, three new restaurants are opening soon. Each one is excitedly anticipated because they’re all owned by reputable restauranteurs who have booming businesses in the area. Even better is that all three restaurants are in walking distance of our vacation rental properties!
The Oyster Society
599 South Collier Boulevard
(239) 394-3474
The family owned Carvelli Restaurant Group has already staked their claim in Marco Island, FL, with two uber successful spots: Marco Prime and DaVinci’s, both located in Marco Walk Plaza. Smartly, they’ve added a third location, adding to their collection of thriving Marco Island restaurants. The brand new Oyster Society has a menu that’s rich with local seafood and there’s a complementary wine list to match. Sip on craft cocktails and dine on seasonal dishes or order from the raw bar’s list of daily specials. Part Great Gatsby, part nautical, the theme at The Oyster Society is both glamorous and befitting for Florida. While sophisticated, the ambiance is also relaxed, making it ideal for a chic, unhurried night out.
Ohana American Grill
657 South Collier Boulevard (where Konrad’s Tropical Grille used to be)
Kathy and Brian O’Brien, the owners of Fin Bistro, wanted to try something different when they opened their new restaurant, Ohana American Grill. Instead of focusing on locally caught fresh fish, like Fin does, Ohana’s menu is mostly made up of meat, duck and game. There’s also a large selection of appetizers, plus flat breads and pasta dishes. While the selection may sound heavier than a delicate seafood dinner, the O’Briens have kept the flavors fresh and light. During family vacations in Marco Island, FL, it can be tricky to please everyone’s palate – Ohana offers a delicious alternative if you’re ready for a break from seafood.
Pinchers
591 South Collier Boulevard
(239)970-5391
Marco Island restaurants are being joined by a southwest Florida favorite: Pinchers. Since launching in 1997, the chain has expanded to include 12 restaurants, each preparing fresh seafood that’s delivered daily. Taking over the location that was once O’Donoghue’s Bar and Grill, the space has been completely renovated and remodeled. Down-to-earth and perfect for family vacations, Pinchers is modeled after a good ol’ seafood shack. Order two-for-one drink specials all day, every day. The menu has sandwiches and tacos, seafood platters, pasta, five different types of crab, and homemade key lime pie for dessert.
