It’s Friday night and for many families that means pizza night! As many of you know, Marco Island is home to a wide variety of fine dinning restaurants. But sometimes, after a day of sun and fun, you just want to kick back in your beachfront condo and spend a cozy Friday evening in. What better way to unwind than with some friends and family and a big, cheesy pie?
Pizza can certainly be enjoyed any time of the year and not just on Fridays, of course. But since October happens to be National Pizza Month, now we have another great reason to celebrate this fabulous food any day of the week! A very special thank you to Gerry Durnell who began National Pizza Month back in October of 1984 while he was working as the publisher of Pizza Today magazine.
With pizza, the possibilities are endless. There are countless varieties of crusts and toppings and styles. On top of that, how you eat your pizza may have something to say about you as well (The Way You Eat Your Pizza Says a Lot About Your Personality). It’s a very interesting read, and I am sure the next time you eat pizza you’ll have lots talk about.
Marco Island is home to some amazing pizzerias that you won’t want to miss. Better yet, it’s a great economical and convenient way to dine while on vacation (especially with kids). You can also find everything from fine cuisine to great pizza on the go!

Only 2.3 miles from either beachfront condo, Joey’s Pizza & Pasta is a favorite amongst locals and visitors alike. Family owned and operated since 1997, Joey’s specializes in homemade family recipes and has a mouth-watering selection of both thin and thick crust pizzas. Entree selections, soups, sandwiches and a delicious assortment of desserts such as Tiramisu are also on the menu.

Looking for a slice of New York City right here on Marco Island? Well, look no further than Tony’s NY Pizza. Tony’s prides themselves on using the highest quality ingredients, the highest quality mozzarella and hand tossing their dough before throwing it into their stone deck oven. Napoli on the Bay Pizzeria has been operating in Naples for more than 35 years and has finally made it’s way down here to Marco Island. You can enjoy classic pies like the Chicago Stuffed Pizza, or the Napoli Special Pizza or you can go for the Eggplant and Tomato Pie! You can enjoy your pie with a side of wings, garlic knots or mozzarella sticks (c’mon, who doesn’t love mozzarella sticks?). Or you can enjoy a Spinach Stromboli or a cold sub if that suits your fancy. Don’t forget to try the Cannoli’s for dessert. Order pick up, sit and dine in whichever suits your fancy for a night out.

Are you into beer? Then head down to the Marco Island Brewery. The brewery was owned by the LaCava Family for many years, although it is no owned by the Jones Restaurant Group who are dedicated to keeping the Brewery as a high-quality, family focused restaurant. They offer 40 varieties of craft beer from around the globe, and on top of that delicious hand made pizza! Everything on their menu is made fresh from their local Grouper to their Homemade Meatballs. With time-tested authentic recipes you can’t go wrong. This family owned and operated brewery is a great place to kick back, watch the game, explore craft beers and a high-quality pizza pie.

You’re in for a treat when you visit Marco Island’s family owned Italian Deli & Market! Well-known and loved for their homemade cuisine, specialties include their New York-style pizza, flavorful heroes, soups and salads. All pizza is sprinkled with fresh oregano and basil, delish!
Insider’s In-The-Know: There are limited tables and chairs and may not look like much from the outside. However, the pizza and food are great, not to mention the friendly service of the two brothers from Brooklyn that own it. The Italian Deli offers pizza by the slice or pie. So its perfect for dining in or a few slices to take on the go.
Sami’s Pizza Grande & Gourmet to Go

Sami’s Pizza Grande & Gourmet to Go has something for everyone. Located in what used to be the Kwik Stop, a convenience store, the eatery has turned itself into Marco’s go-to lunch destination. After a huge transformation they have indoor and outdoor seating! Sami’s offers authentic pizza made in house and fresh everyday as well as calzones and stromboli. You can also order kebobs, gyros, tacos, burgers, wings, subs, sandwiches and so much more. Sami’s recently won “Best Overall” in the 2017 Taste of Marco annual competition, a testament to its quality.
Insider’s In-The-Know: Seating is limited. Ordering delivery or pick-up is ideal. Also, the restaurant still doubles as a convenience store. So if you order something for delivery you can always add on any convenience store item to be delivered with your food!
The SpeakEasy

If Chicago style pizza is your favorite, then rejoice! You don’t have to go all the way to Chicago to find it, you can enjoy it right here on Marco Island. The SpeakEasy is a testament to the old Speak Easy’s created to sell alcohol illegally during the prohibition. Of course, now it’s all done legally but with style! But let’s talk about the pizza. The SpeakEasy prides itself on making pizza with the freshest and finest ingredients “The Old World Way”. You can create your own pizza, including gluten free, or you can buy one of their pre-designed pizzas such as a Shrimp Scampi Pizza, or classics like the Margarita or Buffalo Chicken pizza. If you want something a little thinner try the Reuben Flat Bread or the Pulled Pork Flat Bread! They also offer delicious pasta’s, fish, and of course, drinks!
Joey D’s of Naples

Joey D’s has been a family owned and operated business in Naples for over 23 years! They opened up a new location here on Marco Island in 2017 and have been flying high ever since. They have become infamous for their delicious, authentic Italian cuisine. You can enjoy pizza by the slice, gluten free cauliflower crust, or a deep dish pie. Their Stromboli is delicious, but you can’t go wrong with Joey D’s Special Pizza or the Seafood Pizza! If you go in time for their dinner menu try the Caprese Flatbread or the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread. You can also enjoy subs, wraps, pasta’s, and delicious appetizers.
They also have the Joey D foundation, and if you get Joey D’s Favorite dish (Pasta Ala Vodka) the proceeds go directly the foundation named in his honor. Or you can enjoy whatever you want and donate on your own to to support local youth sports opportunities and initiatives.
