Sail aboard the Marco Island Princess for a relaxing, two-hour dinner cruise. The Princess departs from Rose Marina and cruises it’s way down the Marco River, passing landmarks such as the Snook Inn and Isle of Capri. It then makes its way into Collier and Smokehouse Bays where some of Marco’s finest coastal homes can be found. Eventually, the Princess sails out into the Gulf of Mexico, allowing riders a spectacular sunset view. Along the way you’re guaranteed to see osprey nests, mangroves, dolphins, and, if you’re lucky, manatees!
On board you can choose from a wide array of signature cocktails such as their delicious Green Flash Appletini or the Dark & Stormy Afternoon, which is comprised of Black Magic Rum and Ginger Beer. In terms of food, they offer a buffet of chef carved prime rib and a second entrée of poultry or seafood.
Watching the sunset aboard the Princess is like having a front row seat to nature’s most spectacular show. There’s absolutely nothing like it! It’s the perfect option if you’re looking for a traditional dinner date with some great views.
Insider-In-The-Know: The Princess sails rain or shine. They only cancel if there’s an extreme weather event. If you see a thunderstorm in the forecast, don’t cancel your reservation! Remember, some of the best sunsets come after a good storm.
Looking for adventure? Kayak Marco Island offers all kinds of fun and exciting kayak tours! They have multiple launch locations on and around Marco Island, depending on which tour you choose. All are welcome to join, regardless of skill level.
Throughout each month Kayak Marco offers Moonlight and Full Moon kayak trips. Cruising on still water beneath a full moon is an experience like no other. It’s relaxing, awe-inspiring, and dare I say it, romantic. Seeing Marco Island in the moonlight, with the stars shining above, gives kayakers a different perspective of the island and it’s beauty. It’s a unique tour that I would definitely recommend.
During some full moon tours, Kayak Marco hosts a Full Moon Paddle Party. Tour goers end their trip by paddling to a local restaurant for fun and food! Check out their schedule to see when the next party/full moon will happen.
Insider-In-The-Know: During the summer months, Kayak Marco Island offers Black Night Bioluminescence Tours. Bioluminescence is when the water literally glows a greenish blue color. Single-celled organisms called dinoflagellates, as well as other sea creatures, that emit light when disturbed are generally considered the source of bioluminescence. It’s an amazing, almost magical sight to see.

If you’re looking for a date night that’s a little more relaxed, then why not try the Spirited Painter? The Spirited Painter is Marco Island’s premiere sip and paint studio. Guests bring their own alcoholic beverages (beer and wine only) and snacks, and are led through a painting demonstration. The studio provides everything you’ll need to get creative such as, brushes, easels, canvases, paints and aprons.
If you’re not an artistic person, don’t worry! This is all for fun. Each night a local artist provides step-by-step instructions and helps the painters when they need it. At the end of the night you’ll walk away with a unique painting that’s all your own.
Insider-In-The-Know: Besides a great date night location, the Spirited Painter also hosts private events, house parties, bridal showers, and even corporate ceremonies.

Who doesn’t love a little putt putt? The Marco Golf and Garden miniature golf course is challenging and superbly landscaped. As you play the course you can’t help but to appreciate the beauty of their award-winning garden. It’s the perfect place for families or just you and your significant other. Along the course difficult holes and strategically placed water bottles for golfers to enjoy. The golf center is open daily from 10a.m. to 10p.m., allowing for a late night adventure or an early morning activity.
Insider-In-The-Know: The miniature golf course is located directly next to restaurant La Tavola. I suggest grabbing a bite to eat and then playing the course or vice versa!

Spend a night at the theater with the Marco Players. The Marco Players is a non-profit community theater that’s been running on Marco Island since the 1970s! During their season, which generally runs from October to May, they produce and perform about 6 plays. Besides plays, the theater hosts musical events, comedy routines, and special presentations. Check out their Lunch Box series for more information on the upcoming season.
The theater is a great date night option for obvious reasons. It’s fun, exciting, and they put on a great show! But it’s also a fun way to experience Marco Island and our culture.
Insider-In-The-Know: The Marco Players is also located right next to some great restaurants. Stop by The Brewery (www.marcoislandbrewery.com) or Crazy Flamingo (www.thecrazyflamingo.com) for a delicious meal before watching a local production.
