Need Groceries For Your Marco Island Vacation Rental?

Groceries, Vacation,  Where to go?

healthy-food-1487647Our SeaWinds and Apollo beachfront condos both have fully equipped kitchens. We try to think of everything you need to cook from a basic, simple meal to a gourmet dining experience if desired! You may not want spend your vacation time cooking in a kitchen, but somehow cooking and dining alfresco on the balcony while watching a Marco Island sunset with a margarita in hand, doesn’t quite seem like work!

We recently added a waffle maker to each unit. Now, a warm waffle with fruit, breakfast is fast, easy and delicious to get your day going quickly. (Although, there’s really nothing “quick” about Island time!)

Off-Island Suggestions:

DSCN0383Costco
Gulf Coast Center
10088 Gulf Center Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33913

If you are flying into Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) our first stop is Costco. As a mom of 3 growing children, “bulk grocery” shopping is my friend! Costco is located across the street from the airport entrance. Costco sells wine and beer, but there’s also a liquor store conveniently attached to it (we do provide blenders, so all you need is the tequila for your frozen margaritas!).

Wal-Mart
6650 Collier Blvd, Naples

If you are not a member of Costco, you can always make a stop at the Wal-Mart Supercenter for groceries. It is on the way, and 20 minutes from Judge Jolley Bridge (one of the two bridges connecting Marco to the mainland).

On-Island suggestions:

There are 3 chain grocery stores on Marco Island, an all are a short drive from either of our beachfront condos:

1. Winn-Dixie
625 N Collier Blvd.
Opened Monday through Sunday from 7a.m. – 11 p.m.
2. Publix
1089 N Collier Blvd.
Opened Monday through Sunday from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.
3. Publix
175 S Barfield Dr.
Opened Monday through Sunday from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Specialty Food Stores:

Paradise Seafood & Gourmet Market

http://www.paradiseseafoodmarco.com/
721 Bald Eagle Dr (They are typically closed the month of September)

The store is a unique, gourmet seafood shop that offers a large variety of the fresh fish and prepared cuisine. The offerings are endless, a gourmet selection of homemade soups, dips and dinner to go are just a few of the treats you will find here. They will happily prepare a complete dinner wrapped in parchment so all you need to do is heat and serve. Not only delicious, but also convenient!

Summer Day Market
http://www.summerdaymarket.com
1069 N. Collier Blvd.
Located in Marco Town Center Mall

Summer Day Market is the only health food store located on Marco Island. They carry a selection of gluten–free, dairy-free, and many vegan friendly products. A healthy selection of homemade soups, salads and sandwiches is typical. My personal favorites are their amazing protein fruit smoothie and the chicken salad!

Located in Veteran’s Community Park
901 Park Ave, Marco Island

The market is open every Wednesday during the months of November through April from 7:30am -1 pm.

At the market you’ll find an array of local fresh produce, herbs, flowers, seafood, honey, sauces, baked goods and many other local quality food items. Of course you can also find sweet, juicy and delicious Florida oranges.

While you shop, you can also enjoy lunch from one of the many fabulous local food vendors that are regularly at the market.
